Chicago, IL, September 15, 2023: Last week, the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) released a comprehensive report with recommendations to improve and transform patient safety and healthcare workforce outcomes in the United States. “We cannot begin to address the issues facing patient safety without first identifying the factors that contribute to tragic and inequitable outcomes,” McDonald said. Once we’ve identified a problem, we now need to work toward measurement and solutions so that we’re not just talking about issues but finding ways to fix them.”
