ABU DHABI, May 07, 2025: RLDatix, a global leader in safety, workforce and data solutions for healthcare systems, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in Abu Dhabi, during Abu Dhabi Global Health Week (2025). The agreement seeks to establish a groundbreaking patient safety system, using a unified taxonomy and automation initiative, across the Emirate’s healthcare sector.
This landmark initiative marks the first of its kind in the region to establish a centralized and unified portal for patient safety incidents and infant mortality data reporting. All healthcare organizations across Abu Dhabi will utilize the unified taxonomy, ensuring consistent classification and interpretation of safety events.
The system will leverage RLDatix technology to support advanced data analysis and facilitate learning from incidents. By identifying trends and extracting actionable insights from event data, the initiative will support proactive, system-wide improvements in care quality—elevating the patient experience, prioritizing safety and further positioning the Abu Dhabi emirate as a global leader in healthcare.
"This project represents a significant step forward in our commitment to patient safety and quality of care," said H.E. Dr. Fayeza Saif Alyafei, Executive Director of Healthcare Quality Sector at the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi. "By systematically analyzing patient safety events and implementing lessons learned, we are shaping a safer and more supportive environment for our patients. Our partnership with RLDatix ensures that we are aligned with the highest international standards in patient safety, strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a trusted healthcare destination."
Alyafei added, “This initiative not only enhances our ability to track and respond to patient safety incidents but also fosters a culture of continuous improvement across our healthcare facilities.”
“At RLDatix, we are honored to partner with the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi on this pioneering project,” said Saeed Abu-Hmeed, General Manager of RLDatix MEA. “Through this collaboration, we are dedicated to delivering impactful results that will enhance patient safety outcomes across Abu Dhabi’s healthcare ecosystem.”
The partnership represents a strategic alignment between DOH’s long-standing commitment to healthcare excellence and RLDatix’s proven ability to support safety transformation at scale. As the project unfolds, both organizations will continue to work closely to ensure the implementation delivers measurable improvements—supporting the development of a high-reliability healthcare ecosystem that prioritizes safety, transparency and trust.
