May 04, 2023:

St Vincent’s Health Australia won one of three honours at the RLDatix Safer Awards 2023 – a showcase for outstanding safer care for patients and staff. St Vincent’s gained national recognition by picking up the award for; Safer & Better Client or Patient Journey while St Vincent’s Care Services, which forms part of St Vincent’s Health Australia, took home the Safer and Supported Workforce Award.

RLDatix launched the Safer Awards programme this year to celebrate and recognise excellence in delivering safer care for both patients and staff. The awards showcase the achievements and innovations of RLDatix customers and partners within the last 12 months.

The awards were presented at the end of the first day of People Summit Asia-Pacific in Melbourne. The event is designed for Health and Aged Care organisations in Governance, Risk, Compliance and Workforce, across Australia and New Zealand. People Summit Asia-Pacific brings together a community of customers with leading academics and experts, to discuss current challenges and provide innovative solutions for overcoming them.

The Safer & Better Client/Patient Journey award celebrates health and care organisations that put patient-centric care at the heart of everything they do. The winners of this award provide their workforce with the knowledge, tools, resources and support required to improve their client or patient’s experience within their organisation.

Judges of the RLDatix Safer Awards said: “This award recognises the team at St Vincent’s Health Australia’s exceptional commitment to patient-centric care. We could see the importance of robust incident management processes and the positive impact that can be achieved by involving management in the process. The list of positive impacts was excellent, and the procedures put in place for sustainability were well thought out.”

St Vincent’s Health Australia’s Chief Medical Officer Professor Erwin Loh said the awards were welcome recognition of the enormous effort being taken across all St Vincent’s hospitals to keep patients and staff safe: “At St Vincent’s we pride ourselves on our commitment to safety. That our people are achieving such terrific safety outcomes against the backdrop of the pandemic and all the other serious challenges in healthcare, is a testament to their professionalism and hard work.”

St Vincent’s Health Australia’s Group Manager, Clinical Governance Informatics Edel Murray also added: This award is in recognition of teams across St Vincent’s Health Australia involved in the implementation and embedding of clinical governance applications as part of our quality systems that inform assurance, improvement and analytics that inspire innovative while responding to future healthcare needs.”

Speaking about the awards, Margaret Wright, RLDatix Managing Director, APAC, said: “While it is incredibly difficult to single out organisations and teams, it is important to reflect, recognise and share work that is making a material difference to client or patient journeys at a time when they need it most. I would like to personally congratulate the winners and the highly commended teams who, will be recognised and celebrated by the full RLDatix community and beyond.
